Maybe you just want a 'better' recipe
There’s a moment many women reach ~ especially in midlife ~where something just feels… off. And, I highlight the word 'better' above, because what does that even mean? You can see this for how it works for you....again, I digress, ok.......
So, something feels "off". Not broken. Not falling apart. Just no longer aligned.
'Aligned', that's the word, You look at your life and think, "Why doesn’t this feel like me anymore?”
And it’s easy to believe the answer is something huge.
A complete reset. A major change. A whole. new. life.
You know, the friends who seek out the quick change; wrinkles suddenly gone, weight magically dispersed, a pouty look that didn't exist a few years ago.
Still chasing in an idea of what they 'should' be in this new chapter. (who writes those books on 'shoulds' anyway?🤔)
The idea is, what if that’s not what you need at all?
What if it’s not your life that needs changing…but the way you're living it?
Think about a recipe you’ve made for years. Yes, back to my Blog "If You Day Were A Recipe"...you knew I was going to connect it somehow. What do you think happens in my mind at 3am?😊
But, that recipe, you know the steps by heart. You don’t even think about it anymore ~ you just follow the pattern.
But over time, your tastes change. Your needs (thought about that lately?), yes, your needs, they can change. Even your energy changes.
And suddenly, that same recipe doesn’t quite taste the way it used to.
Not because it’s wrong, or you didn't buy the freshest basil…but because you’re different now.
And that is ok! (Why am I tearing up?😢)
Maybe change doesn’t need to come from starting over
It comes from making small, intentional shifts.
Adding something in🥄. Taking something out. Adjusting the flavor and way things flow.👌
Not all at once—but gently, over time.
And, this might be more 'aligned' to where you are today, not 'better', just aligned.
AND this is where so many can get stuck.
Those thoughts come rolling in like the guests you never invited:
“I need more discipline.”
“I need to be more motivated.”
“I just need to try harder.”
Been there, done that, rode that train to nowhere....🚂 chooo, chooo....
And this usually leads to burnout… not balance.
so, what if you designed your days differently?
Not perfectly. Not rigidly. Just more intentionally.
Instead of asking: “What should I be doing?”
Try asking: “What would actually support me today?”
That might look like:
Starting your morning a little slower
Taking a walk instead of pushing through exhaustion
Saying no without over-explaining
Adding one nourishing meal instead of overhauling everything
These aren’t dramatic changes.
But they shift something.
Tiny habits create real change
The truth is, transformation doesn’t come from big, overwhelming plans.
It comes from the small things you do consistently.
The ones that feel doable. The ones that don’t require you to become a completely different person.
Because you don’t need to become someone new.
You just need to come back to yourself…in small ways.
And underneath it all… clarity
Sometimes what we’re really craving isn’t a new routine.
It’s clarity. If you ask me, I love clarity!
Clarity about:
what we actually need
what we’re holding onto out of habit
what we’re ready to let go of
And that kind of clarity doesn’t come from forcing change.
It comes from slowing down long enough to notice. And that sometimes is the moment we miss - slowing down long enough to notice you....
A gentle reflection and invitation just for you
Before you try to change everything, ask yourself:
What’s one small shift that would make today feel better?
Not perfect. Just…more aligned.
That’s where sustainable change begins.

You don’t need a new kitchen or a new life
You don’t need to tear everything down and start over.
You don’t need to become someone else.
You just need a better recipe ~ one that fits who you are now, in this moment.
And you are allowed to adjust it as you go.
