What Would Nourish You Right Now?

Now this is a question we don’t ask ourselves nearly enough:
What would nourish me right now?
Not what needs to get done. Not what everyone else needs. Not what you should be doing.
But what would actually feel supportive, calming, or life-giving… for you.
I often speak about "space and grace" in my sessions. Being able to see what needs to be shifted is just that ~ showing yourself space to see and grace to move; for you.
And, a picture of a beautiful ballerina comes to mind; effortless and light...thank you my Elliana for this memory. But, I digress.....maybe that moment was grace just for me.
But, for many women, the focus is often on what needs to be reduced. And, you can call me out on harping on this! Always highlighting less stress, fewer responsibilities. better boundaries. The list can go on!
And while those things matter, sometimes the shift we’re craving isn’t only about taking things away.
Sometimes it’s about what’s missing ~ back to the recipe analogy....;)
It's just that life can look full on the outside and still feel empty in the places that matter most.
You can be productive, responsible, and dependable ~ and still feel like something inside you is quietly asking for more.
More ease. More connection. More joy. More space to simply be.
Nourishment doesn’t have to be big or dramatic.
It can be small, almost unnoticeable at first.
A quiet morning with coffee before the house and world wake up. A walk without your phone (or at least in your pocket). Music that brings you back to yourself. Saying no without over-explaining. Saying yes to something that feels like you.
Sometimes nourishment is rest. Sometimes it’s movement. Sometimes it’s connection. Sometimes it’s creating space where there was none before.
And sometimes, it’s remembering what used to bring you joy ~ before life became so full.
I always remember a question that my doctor asked me at a routine appointment. He said, "what have you been doing for fun?"
I just looked back at him. I didn't know what to say.
And when you think about it, a question like that can open another can:
What used to light me up? What made me shine?
Not as pressure to go back, but as a gentle reminder of who you are beneath the roles, the responsibilities, and the expectations.
Life is not only about removing what feels heavy.
It’s also about intentionally adding what feels meaningful.
Because when you begin to add even small moments of nourishment back into your life, something shifts.
You feel a little lighter. A little clearer. A little more like yourself again.
And often, that’s where real change begins.
Not in drastic decisions ~ but in quiet, intentional additions.
So maybe today, the question isn’t:
What do I need to fix?
Maybe it’s simply:
What would nourish me right now?
And that is the grace; just for you.
